A sumptuous array of vines and palmettes repeats across the field . The vines are arranged in regular rhythms to form an allover pattern of adjacent ogival compartments. But amidst the rich subordinate floral detail within these compartments and the uniform ivory color across the field. A beautiful Abrash through one end of the rug. Tabriz carpets are distinguished by their excellent weave and by their remarkable adherence to the classical traditions of Persian rug design. The city of Tabriz, was the earliest capital of the Safavid dynasty.
