Notes:
A beautiful and highly decorative antique Turkish prayer rug featuring a striking raspberry-red stepped mihrab set against an ivory ground. The field is adorned with an elegant lattice of stylized floral forms and geometric blossoms, creating a lively yet harmonious composition. The spandrels contain traditional Anatolian symbolic motifs, while multiple finely drawn borders frame the design with remarkable precision. The rug displays the warm, saturated vegetable-dyed colors for which Anatolian village weavings are admired, including shades of crimson, ivory, indigo blue, soft yellow, and walnut brown. The wool is lustrous and finely knotted, and the rug retains exceptional clarity of design and outstanding preservation.
