It's hard not noticing this rug, the beauty of the blue color and traditional floral with vases design and it's excellent condition. The ends and sides are secured and full high natural dyed wool throughout the carpet.
This wonderful Art Deco carpet was made in China, circa 1910's or 1920's. Walter Nichols was great American rug producer (the Art Deco rugs which he did not originate them) in Tientsin.

This is an authentic handmade rug. It was made in China around the 1920s or before.
It has very fine wool quality.
This Rug is in very condition with high pile all over throughout the rug., cleaned and no stained, the ends and sides of the rug are intact as original and there has not been any repairs.
The materials are from vegetable dyes wool pile over cotton foundation.
Antique Peking rugs started in China shortly after the end of the First World War. During this period, Chinese rug weaving factories relocated from Ningxia, as well as other carpet weaving centres, to the Chinese capital. Measures: 3'1" x 5'11".
Peking rugs could adhere to the traditional patterns derived from Ningxia production. But at times the designs became simpler and asymmetrical, often tending toward modern western Art Deco taste, and the weaving technique became thicker and tighter to make the rugs more durable for western use.
